My work will include forming altar spaces and pursuing ancestral history of individual and communal grieving practices with the intention of forming my findings into illustrated zines.
Fundaiser by Bleeding Thunder: a zine exploring genderqueer menstruation
Bleeding Thunder is a community project that archives and empowers a queer, chthonic mythos distinguishing menstruation from cis-womanhood. Our intention is to build a space that abundantly recognizes, validates, and celebrates queer + trans menstruators in their authentic experiences...
And we are fundraising to publish our SECOND zine compilation that features queer + trans menstruators from around the world!
Opening: Chattanooga Local
Some prominent themes and connections within the exhibition are: immersion in landscape through a long process of looking and mark making; reclaiming agency in representation and personal narrative; seductive materiality referencing the body; references to the mundane; unstable “thinging;” contextualizing and stabilizing motion through scale.
